Obituary

Esther Mae Lucas, 90, of Martins

Ferry, OH passed away on January

22, 2023 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born on August 11, 1932 to the late

George and Sadie (Rouse) Cheffey. She was also

preceded in death by her son Richard Lucas, one

brother George "Willard" Cheffey, four sisters

Mary Lou Gordon, Margie Brown, Edith Pflugh,

and Katherine "Kitty" Kakascik. Esther was a long

time member of the First Christian Church in Martins Ferry. She loved playing bingo and going to the casino. She taught her children and grandchildren to play euchre and was a euchre perfectionist.

She is survived by three children Linda (Michael) Kinter

of Bellaire, Pam Hough of Bridgeport, and Diane

(Nick) Christofferson of Brilliant, grandchildren

Heidi (Mike) Dutcher of Martins Ferry, Brad (Kyli)

Bowers of Brilliant, Drew Hough of Martins Ferry,

Kyle Hough of Bridgeport, John (Ashley) Farrier of

Bellaire, Brianna (Mike) Harveth of Bellaire,

Dawnell Lesch of Wheeling, Joshua (Sarah) Lesch of Charleroi, Pa, and Seth

and Kyrie Lucas of Martins Ferry. Schuetz
