Betty "BJ" Jean Nuckles

Betty "B.J." Nuckles,  of Wheeling Island, passed away on March 4, 2021.  She was born on May 30, 1965 to the late John  and Lavinia Imogene Nuckles, she was also preceded in death by one brother John Nuckles.  She is survived by her significant other and soul mate of 30 years Robert Polen their two incredible children America and Kaleb Nuckles, and her sister Gena (George) Littlefield of New Hampshire.  Although she suffered from many heart and brain issues, she could and usually did light up a room with her smile and laughter.  B.J.'s  heart problems forced her to retire from Wheeling Island racetrack after 20 plus years, she did everything from bartending, managing stands and V.I.P. Host, a job she truly loved.  Betty loved all her nieces, nephews, and all her cousins and kin from Ripley and is gone way too soon, she will always be loved. Betty never met a stranger and she truly loved all her friends like family.   Friends and family may call at Schuetz Funeral Home 4719 Jacob St. Wheeling, WV on Wednesday March 10, from 2- 4 pm and 6 pm until time of services at 8 pm with Pastor Kevin Daugherty officiating.
