It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Wendy Jo Evans-Greathouse, who left us unexpectedly due to natural causes on April 17, 2026, at her home. Born on April 24, 1979, in Bellaire, Ohio, Wendy carried a vibrant spirit and an unyielding love for her family and community throughout her life.

Wendy was a proud graduate of Shadyside High School’s Class of 1998. For 17 years, she was a dedicated employee at Burger King in Bellaire, demonstrating unwavering commitment and warmth to all she met. Her career continued as she brought her talents to Walmart in Moundsville and later to North Wood, also in Moundsville. Wendy was known not only for her work ethic but for her lively personality, endearing stubbornness, and caring nature that touched the lives of coworkers and customers alike.

At the heart of Wendy’s life was her son, Skyler Evans, her proudest accomplishment. Her joy in watching him grow was immense, and one of her most cherished memories was walking alongside him during Senior Night. Wendy’s love extended beyond her family to friends and the community; she was known for always including everyone, embracing life with enthusiasm and generosity. She had a playful side as well, often seen creating delightful treats like cookies and Oreo balls, and even became a TikTok creator, bringing smiles to many.

Wendy’s passions were as warm and varied as her personality. She adored Highland Cows, lighthouses, beaches, holidays, and spending quiet moments outside enjoying the company of her family. These simple joys brought her profound happiness and connectedness to those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of over ten years, Duncan Eric Greathouse Jr., who shared in her journey and stood beside her through life’s many moments. Wendy is also survived by her stepmother, Cissy McMahon of Bellaire; her son, Skyler Evans of Bellaire; two sisters, Drucilla (Xavier) Mata of Bellaire and Summer Donahue of Wheeling; and two brothers, Bailey Evans and Reece Evans, both of Bellaire. Her extended family includes cousins Audra Anderson and Logan Griffin of Bridgeport, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends such as Alex Avila and Fred Overstreet who cherished her friendship.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Lottie (Anderson) Evans, and her stepfather, George McMahon, whose memories she carried close to her heart.

Though Wendy’s departure leaves a profound void, her loving spirit, outspoken kindness, and the warmth she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for the light she brought into every room, the steadfast love she gave her family, and the sweetness—both in personality and in her beloved desserts—that made her truly special. Her White Jeep, a symbol of her time at Walmart, remains a testament to her pride and enduring presence.

May Wendy Jo Evans-Greathouse rest in peace, forever cherished and never forgotten.
