Walter "Wadz" John Bikoski Jr.

Walter John Bikoski Jr., lovingly known as “Wadz,” passed away at home on August 30, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 22, 1948, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and lived a life marked by devotion to family, hard work, generosity, and the simple joys that brought people together.

Walter was a graduate of Dillonvale High School. He went on to work at Belot’s Concrete, now Walden Industries. He also played an important part in the life of his family through Brandy’s Bar, owned by his parents, where he helped close and worked throughout its 19 years of operation. Whether on the job or lending a hand to family, Walter was someone who showed up and did what needed to be done.

He was a proud Polish man with a big love for sports, especially the Steelers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time tinkering in his big garage. He loved bowling with CSA and served as captain of the bowling team for Brandy’s Bar. He also loved fishing and camping, especially at Tappan Lake, and he never lost his appreciation for a good home-cooked meal. Walter’s generous spirit was felt by everyone around him. He was the kind of man who would warmly ask, “You want something to eat or drink?”—a simple question that reflected the way he cared for others and made them feel welcome.

Above all else, Walter was most proud of his children and grandchildren. His family was the center of his life, and the love he gave them will remain one of his greatest legacies.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Jean (Herron) Bikoski, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Together they built a family that meant everything to him. He is also survived by his son, Randy (Lisa) Bikoski of Rayland, and his daughter, Sherri (Dan) Carpenter of Rayland.  Walter leaves behind his grandchildren, Ryan Vanhove Bikoski, Brooke Bikoski, and Brody Bikoski; his granddaughter Ember Fulton and her husband, Travis Fulton; and his grandson Evan Carpenter and his fiancée, Shelby Bence. He is also survived by his sister, Diann Twardowski, and her husband, Frank Twardowski; his nephew Clayton (Jayetee) Herron; his niece Mary Jean Herron; and his great-niece Hayden James Herron and great-nephew Lucas Scott Herron. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and especially by those who were fortunate enough to call him family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys (Burch) Bikoski, and his father, Walter John "Brady" Bikoski Sr.

Walter will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family gatherings, his enjoyment of the outdoors and sports, and his open-hearted hospitality. In the stories shared around tables, in memories of fishing trips and camping days, and in the warmth of a home where no one left without being offered something to eat or drink, his life will continue to be felt and cherished.
