Theresa May Comer

Theresa May Comer, 88, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on June 26, 2026 at Valley Hospice Liza's Place surrounded by family. She was born on March 10, 1938 to the late Auldin and Mary Catherine (Brant) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Cecil ‘Cec’ Edward Comer, one son Edward Comer, two sisters Mary Margaret Latz, and Audrey Laffey, three grandchildren Jamie Hannig, Chad and Jessica Comer, and daughter-in-law, Susie Comer.

She enjoyed her 40-year career as a Registered Nurse, she loved her faith, family, babies, and country, she was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, Gma and friend. Theresa was a lifelong parishioner of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and volunteered at Catholic Charities in Wheeling. The family would like to express its gratitude to the healthcare providers that have taken care of Mom through the years.

Surviving children are Peg (John) Taylor of Wheeling, WV, Joe (Elaine) Comer of Falling Waters, WV, Daniel (Tina) Comer of Parkersburg, WV, Cecil (Ashley) Comer of Charlotte NC, David Comer of Goldsboro NC, Kate (Erik) Krupa of Shadyside OH, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one sister Debbie (Gary) Schuetz of Tiltonsville, OH.

Viewing will be on Tuesday June 30, 2026 from 5 pm - 8 pm at Keller Funeral Home Hanover Street Martins Ferry, OH 43935, with a Rosery at 7:30 pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be on Wednesday July 1, at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11am with Father Jeeson Stephan Celebrant. In Lieu of Flowers donation can be made to Valley Hospice or St. Vincent de Paul Church.
