Shirley Jean Sinkarow, a devoted homemaker and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born on January 14, 1954, in Hundred, West Virginia, Shirley touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her sweet spirit and unwavering commitment to family.
For most of her life, Shirley dedicated herself to the nurturing and raising of her four children: Anna (Doug) Radcliffe of Wheeling, Debbie (Rick) Black of Wheeling, John Sinkarow of Colerain, and Michelle (Michael) Stevey of Glen Easten, West Virginia. She had a remarkable ability to create loving memories, especially during the holidays, which she cherished and celebrated with her family, making each gathering a warm and joyful occasion.
Shirley was a proud High School Graduate of the class that shaped her early years. Throughout her life, she embraced the style of parenting prevalent in the 70s and 80s, instilling values of kindness and care in her children. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she was active in her community, volunteering at Catholic Charities and the Soup Kitchen of Wheeling, showcasing her immense heart and desire to help those in need.
Among her many hobbies, Shirley relished playing cards and was known for her enthusiasm during bingo games, often bringing joy and laughter wherever she played. She will be remembered as someone who balanced her roles with grace and love, taking pride in every achievement and moment spent with her loved ones.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, her grandchildren, and her sister, Lena Welch of New Mexico. She left a lasting impact on her community and will forever be fondly remembered by her beloved friends, Andy and Margret Scott of Elm Grove. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Lizzie Greathouse, and her husband, Ernest John Sinkarow Jr.
