Sharlene Lynette Turner, affectionately known as "Rosie", passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2026, at her home. Born on October 16, 1961, in Steubenville, Ohio. Sharlene's vibrant spirit and heart of gold touch the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.


For 25 years, Sharlene dedicated her life as a Resident Care Aide, embodying the compassion and caregiving that made her an irreplaceable presence to many. Her career was not just a job; it was a testament to her caring nature and dedication to helping others. She was known for her big-hearted approach, always turning the negative into a positive, and her smile could light up any room.


Sharlene cherished time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, Payton (Shelvon), Leland, Miami, Isrealla "Izzy", and Dominica "Mini" (India), Makayla and Simya (Shelton).


Each moment created with them was a treasure, as she delighted in the simple joys of life-be it cheering at the Big Red football games including playing slots at the Weirton cafes. Sharlene found immense joy in cooking; she was known around town for her delicious fried chicken and dishes she prepared for special events. Sharlene also has found enjoyment in interior decorating.


Her outgoing personality drew people to her, creating lasting friendships throughout her life. She mostly enjoyed going to bingo with her brother Moses "Butch" Turner, and playing cards and casino with her two best friends Tammy Poole and Mary 'Peaches" Lawrence.


Sharlene is survived by her three children: Shelton Turner and Shelvon Turner "Shev"(Steubenville, OH), and India Turner (Virginia Beach,VA). She was a proud grandmother of 7 and a great grandmother of 2. Makayla Turner, Simya Turner (Shelton). Leland, Miami, Isrealla "Izzy", Dominica "Mini" (India). Payton (Shelvon) and Zenzuhlay "Zenzee" (Isrealla), and Italy "IT IT" (Miami). Sharlene also had another special girl that she considered her granddaughter Ta'Nasia "tt" Smallwood.


Sharlene has 3 surviving siblings Kenneth "Cooter" Turner (Columbus,OH), Moses "Butchie" Turner (Steubenville), and Joyce Turner (Virginia Beach, VA).


Preceding her in death is her mother Delores "Bea" Turner, and life partner Clemon "Bumpy" Payton.


In celebrating Sharlene's Life, we honor a soul who gave so much love and laughter to her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy will forever be remembered and cherished.


As we say farewell to Sharlene Lynette Turner, let us hold dear memories of her radiant smile and caring spirit, which will continue to inspire and uplift us in the days to come.


The Turner family would like to thank everyone who put a helping hand and cared for Sharlene during her battle with cancer. Her children would like to send a special thanks to Oncologist Dr. M Pervaiz Rahman for treating her more than just a patient but treating her as a human that he had hope for and using all his professional tactics to help her fight this difficult fight.


Her children would personally like to thank their uncle and Sharlene's younger sibling Moses "Butchie" Turner. When Butchie found out Rosie was sick he never left her side, he went thru the difficult fight with her, Moses was not only a brother he was one of the best caretakers that we would have wanted for our mother and we are forever grateful for this.


In celebrating Sharlene's life, we honor a soul who gave so much love and laughter to her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy will forever be remembered and cherished. The visitation for Sharlene will be held on January 16,2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM with Pastor Vaughn A. Foster Sr. officiate at Schuetz Funeral Home 235 Clifton Ave Mingo Jct. Ohio 43938.
