Ruby Elaine (Gilstrap) Vanhook

Ruby Elaine Vanhook, 89 of Weirton, WV, died Friday December 5, 2014 at Brightwood Center in Follansbee, WV.  Ruby was born September 14, 1925 to the late Jonas Gilstrap and Nancy (Wynn) Gilstrap. She was preceded in death by her husband Amos Lee Vanhook . Rube was a retired nurse that started her career at Scott White Hospital, then the VA Hospital and ended as a home health nurse at nearly 70 years of age.  She enjoyed Fast pitched softball in her days, and her family, Ruby was a active member of the church of God in Texas where she lived until moving up to Weirton with her daugher . She is survived by one daughter Judy (George) Yacos of Weirton , WV, three grandchildren Michelle (Anthony) Colberg of Phoenix AZ, Nicholas Yacos of Weirton, and B James Yacos of Weirton, and three great grand children, Casey Yacos, Nicholas Jr., and Hailee Yacos.
