Raymond Eugene Wells, a compassionate spirit and a dedicated mechanic, left this world on June 29, 2025, in the comforting embrace of his home. Born on July 25, 1953, in the charming town of Martins Ferry, OH, Raymond's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to both his profession and his loved ones.
For many years, Raymond lent his skilled hands and warm heart to the customers of Matthew Chevrolet in Brilliant, OH. His mechanical expertise was only rivaled by his kind demeanor. He was a man well-liked by all who crossed his path, often brightening days with a smile and a friendly word. In his workshop, he not only fixed cars but also forged connections, leaving a lasting impression on every patron who came seeking assistance.
Raymond had a family that he cherished deeply. He is survived by his beloved stepdaughter, Jeanne DiGiulio, residing in Steubenville, and his son, Billy Cline, joined in marriage to Jenny Cline, of Mingo Junction. Together, they created a tapestry of memories that exemplified love, laughter, and the bonds of family. The legacy of Raymond continues through his two step-grandchildren, Payton Adams and Kaina Cline, who will undoubtedly carry forward the values and warmth he imparted to them.
However, life’s unpredictable nature led him to precede the mortal veil without warning. He was preceded in death by his dearly departed father, Shirley Wells; his adoring wife, Joyce (Evans) Wells; and his brothers, Jack and Bob Wells, who surely welcomed him with open arms in the realm beyond.
As we remember Raymond, we reflect on not just the relationships he nurtured, but also the laughter he shared, the problems he solved, and the warmth he brought into the lives of others. He touched hearts deeply and will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
The community will come together to celebrate his remarkable life during a visitation on July 5, 2025, at Schuetz Funeral Home located in Mingo Junction, OH. Friends and family are invited to join from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, as they pay their respects and share in cherished memories of a man whose spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved and served.
In our sadness, we also find solace, knowing that Raymond Eugene Wells will forever remain a beacon of kindness and a symbol of a life well-lived.
