Barbara Ellen Frye

Barbara Ellen Frye, 83, of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on August 20, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Barbara was born on May 9, 1943, to the late Clark and Esther (Anderson) White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tonya Frye, as well as five of her siblings.

Throughout her life, Barbara worked hard and took great pride in providing for her family. She was formerly employed by Ohio Power and Gabriel Brothers before enjoying her well-earned retirement.

Barbara is survived by two children, Melissa Smith and Tom Frye both of Bellaire; two granddaughters, Tara (Ryan) Dodds of Shadyside and Tia (Eric) Larry of Bellaire; three great-grandchildren, Aubriel and Taryn Dodds and Weston Larry; and four siblings.

Barbara lived a full life with family always at the very center of her world. She was loyal and devoted to those she loved, and her unconditional love was a constant source of strength and comfort to her family. She showed that love not only through her words, but through her actions—always being there, always caring, and always putting her family first.

She also had an incredible talent for creating beautiful things with her hands. Barbara spent countless hours crocheting, sewing, and making quilts, leaving behind pieces that are far more than handmade treasures.

Her presence will be deeply missed. The many things she created will remain treasured keepsakes, but her greatest legacy will always be the family she loved, the lives she touched, and the love she leaves behind.

Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
