It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Leslie Jo Allen, who left this world early on the morning of December 28th 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering determination.
Born with challenges that would have discouraged many, Leslie never let that define who she was or what she could accomplish. Her spirit was stronger than any limitation, pushing herself through pain and obstacles with dignity, resilience, and grace. She was a shining example of courage in its purest form. She was born on March 12, 1960 to the late James Allen and surviving Jacqueline (Johnson) Johnston. She is also preceded in death by brother Jimmy Allen, Stepdad Francis Butch "Johnston", and nephews Dylan Johnston and Donald "Buck" Maupin III.
She is survived by three sisters Cindy (Don) Maupin of Bellaire, Nora (Mike) Davenport of Florida, and Patty Menchaca of Florida, four brothers Cliff (Shannon) Allen of N. Carolina, Clint Allen of Florida, Jack and Josh Johnston of Bellaire, Jesse, Kaitlynn, Casey, Lindsey Johnston, Woody Maupin, Jacob Johnston, nieces Georgia Schybal and Tori McCabe and numerous other nieces and nephews, and her very special friend Joe Poludniak.
Leslie was not only a fighter, she was a caregiver, a comforter, and a loving presence. She could fill any house with warmth, humor, and gentle wisdom. Her laughter could soften the hardest days, and her compassion reached far beyond her own struggles. Everyone who crossed her path was touched by her determination, and her ability to find light even in the darkest corners of life. She inspired not just her family, but anyone who witnessed the courage with which she lived each day.
Though her passing leaves an ache that words cannot fill, we find comfort in knowing she is now free from pain, her spirit lifted, her body unburdened, her journey complete. Heaven has gained a soul as strong as it was gentle, as brave as it was kind.
Leslie will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
