Listen to Obituary

Kirstie Marie Byers, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2026, in Riverhead, New York. Born on January 7, 1994, in Steubenville, Ohio, Kirstie’s presence in the lives she touched will remain enduring and profound.

A graduate of Indian Creek High School’s Class of 2012, Kirstie took great pride in this milestone—a proud accomplishment marking the beginning of many meaningful chapters in her life. Her career journey included memorable experiences as a dedicated employee at Scaffidi's Restaurant and Tavern, as well as Sumo Japanese Restaurant. Through these roles, her warm, people-oriented nature shone brightly, drawing others to her with ease. She had a rare gift for stepping into people’s hearts, swiftly forming friendships that spoke to her genuine and caring soul.

Kirstie’s love was as vibrant and varied as the color blue, which she adored. Her unique interests extended to oddball things that captured her curious spirit and to nature shows, which she could watch for hours on end, captivated by the wonders of the natural world. Her deep affection for animals was exceptional; at one time, she cared for five dogs, nine cats, and even nurtured baby and injured birds. This devotion to the creatures around her reflected her tender heart and boundless compassion.

Kirstie leaves behind those who loved her deeply: her father Scott Alan (Kristine) Byers Sr. of Richmond; her brother Scott A (Jackie) Byers II of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two stepbrothers, Jordan (Michelle) Noviski and Logan Noviski, both of Richmond; her half-sister Jessica Moralee of Steubenville; three beloved nieces, Giana, Mila, and Rylee Noviski; as well as her uncle Bill Moralee and aunt Billie Jo Moralee. Their lives are woven tightly with hers, forever carrying her spirit in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her mother Michelle (Moralee) Byers, maternal grandparents Bill and Erma Moralee, and paternal grandparents Richard Byers and Linda Balogac. The legacy of their love rests gently alongside the light Kirstie brought into the world.

A visitation to honor Kirstie’s memory will be held on May 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery Steubenville, located at 1720 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville, Ohio. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM, concluding at 12:00 PM, providing all who loved her a moment to reflect, grieve, and celebrate a life so beautifully lived.

Though Kirstie’s time with us was far too brief, her indelible spirit, her warmth, and her unmistakable ability to make friends easily and touch hearts remain everlasting. She taught us all that kindness, curiosity, and love for all living things are treasures worth embracing.

In our sorrow, we hold tightly to the memories and the heartfelt moments that defined Kirstie Marie Byers—a soul forever shining in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Rest peacefully, dear Kirstie. You are deeply missed and eternally loved. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
