Karen S. Anthony, affectionately known as "Pumpkin" to her husband, passed away at her home on September 13, 2026, following a brief battle with lung and bone cancer. She was 68 years old.Born on September 28, 1957, in Steubenville, Ohio, she was a graduate of Wintersville High School. Mrs. Anthony was employed as an operational clerk at the Rue 21 Distribution Center. Dedicated to her family, she took great joy in caring for her husband, Douglas, and maintained a meticulously organized home.Outside of her work and home life, Mrs. Anthony found pleasure in the outdoors, enjoying summer fishing, excursions to Put-in-Bay, all-terrain vehicle riding, and motorcycle trips. She was also known for her baking, particularly her traditional nut rolls and Christmas cookies, and was an ardent supporter of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State athletics.She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Douglas Anthony; her daughter, Tammy Davis of Tiltonsville; and her stepsons, Douglas Anthony Jr. of Alabama and Cody Anthony of Brilliant. She also leaves behind her sisters, Cheryl Purvis of Appling, Georgia, Nancy Rupert of Wintersville, and Linda Chappano of Mingo Junction; her twin brother, Richard Davis of Toronto, Ohio; sisters-in-law Mary, Donna, Anna, and Laura; brothers-in-law David Anthony and Bill Anthony; and her cherished cat, Sassy.Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joan (McDonald) Davis, as well as her brother, Tommy Davis.In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation will take place, and interment at New Alex Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
