John Mattu Jr.

John Mattu Jr., 84, of Piedmont, OH passed away on September 12, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born on May 11, 1942 to the late John Sr. and Grace (Rimel) Mattu. He was a operating Engineer for Local 66 out of Pittsburgh, 32nd Degree Mason, he liked to fish, quiet evenings at home, he like to build furniture as a hobbies, He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in St. Clairsville.

He is survived by his wife Jayne Olive (Grantz) Mattu of 66 years. two children John Mattu III St. Clairsville, Daughter Tammy Alice Cole of Piedmont, OH three grandchild Kennedy (Kelsey) Cromar of St. Clairsville, Ashley Cole and Emily Cole, one great grandchild Kendrick J. Cromar.

Two brothers Michael Mattu of Leechburg, PA, Charles Mattu of Ford City, PA.

There will be no services at this time and John will have his ash's scattered at a later date. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
