John "Ticker" Marquette

John "Ticker '' Marquette, 84, of Weirton formerly of Mingo Jct. OH, passed away on Monday May 16, 2022.   He was born on May 31, 1937 in Steubenville, OH to the late John and Mary (Masterlasco) Marchetta.  He is also preceded in death by one daughter Brenda Marquette-Bilderback, two sisters Phyllis Strongosky, and Sarah J Ragni. Ticker name known by friends worked for Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel as a Mill Recorder, graduate of Mingo High School , a past member of St. Agnes, and a U.S. Army Vet.  Ticker had a huge heart with great love for his family and a great love of golf and Steubenville Big Red Football.  He is survived by his wife Paula Waleria (Spurrier) Marquette of 54 years, two daughters Ann (Fred) Huff of Steubenville, Lisa (Adam) Murphy of Weirton, six grandchildren Devin, Darren, and Braden Myers, Brooklynn Murphy, Kayla and Olivia Huff, one very dear friend Bryan Westling.  Friends will be received at Schuetz Funeral Home 235 Clifton Ave Mingo Jct., OH on Friday May 20 from 4 to 8 pm with prayer services at 6:30 pm.  The family would like to thank Weirton Geriatric Center for their years of services taking care of Ticker and Valley Hospice for his care at the end of his life.
