Joan Lee Hall, 68, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on February 24, 2026, at WVU Ruby Memorial, due to complications from a severe infection. She was born on June 17, 1957, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and remained a cherished member of her community throughout her life.

Joan was a graduate of Brideport High School, class of 1976. Throughout her career, she worked at Ponderosa but was most passionate about her role as a full-time homemaker. She dedicated herself to her family, instilling love and warmth in the household. Joan was particularly proud of the time she spent at home with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating a legacy of family bonds through her caring and nurturing spirit.

Known for her inner and outer beauty, Joan had a remarkable sense of humor and maintained a loving nature towards all. She enjoyed watching mystery movies, playing games on her computer, and singing, with her favorite song being "You Are My Sunshine." Joan found joy in cooking, and many will fondly remember her cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, and Christmas cookies that brought family and friends together.

Her husband, Charles Everett Hall Sr., stood by her side for 49 wonderful years. Together they raised four children: Angie Donzella of Piedmont, Charles Hall Jr. of Bridgeport, Virginia, Steven Griekspoor of North Carolina, and Heather Ogden of Bridgeport. Joan leaves behind six grandchildren: Paul Coen Jr. of Follansbee, Courtney Coen of Wintersville, Nathan Hall of Bridgeport, Lacy Ogden of Martins Ferry, Logan Clarke of Moundsville, and Rebecca Leoncilli of Oberlin, Ohio, as well as three great-grandchildren: Amaris Hastings, Henry, and Isabella Rose Udon.

Joan is also survived by her three sisters, Susan (Bob) Lyons of Florida, Mary Palmer of Rayland, and Teresa Konyha of Yorkville, along with her three brothers, Jim Popp of Yorkville, David Brestle of Glenn Robins, and Bob Brestle of West Virginia.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Clody (Popp) Brestle, as well as her sister Betty Sempkowski, twin brother John Brestle, and brother John Popp. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories shared amongst her family and friends, who will continue to celebrate the love, laughter, and joy she brought into their lives. Joan will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
