Jason "Fish" Lee Blackburn, a devoted and skilled self-employed auto mechanic, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2026, at Trinity West ER. Born on January 6, 1972, in Steubenville, Ohio, Jason's life was marked by dedication to his craft and to the family he cherished deeply.
Jason built a respected career in the field of auto mechanics, where his expertise and commitment to quality service earned him the admiration of clients and peers alike. His hands-on approach and problem-solving skills made him a trusted figure within his community.
He is survived by his beloved son, Jacob Michael Blackburn, and Jacob’s partner, Chesie Michelle, of Wintersville. Jason also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Rhain Nicole Lumpkin, also of Wintersville. He is remembered fondly by his three sisters: Lori Ann Hart and her husband Robert of Toronto, Tricia Virginia Haspel of Brilliant, and Peggy Owen Green of Brilliant. Jason’s legacy continues through many nieces and nephews, including Adam, Kyle, Michael, Brittney, Coty, Marlana, Robert, and Carley, among others who held him in great affection.
Jason is survived by his father, Roy Melvin Blackburn and preceded in death by his mother Nancy Elaine (Mills) Blackburn, who laid the foundation of love and integrity that shaped his life.
His sudden passing leaves a profound void among family and friends who valued his warmth, humor, and steadfast support. Jason Lee Blackburn’s memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew him and, in the community, he served so faithfully. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
