Jack Garfield Shreve Sr., 86, of Bellaire OH, a beloved father and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at Valley Hospice Liza's Place. Born on August 26, 1939, in Woodsfield, Ohio, Jack was a man of simple pleasures and profound love, whose spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew.

Jack was a true artisan at heart, devoted to the beauty of classic cars. His passion for auto body and mechanic repair was evident; he found joy in bringing old machines back to life, as if each restoration carried with it a piece of history. To him, these vehicles were more than just metal and chrome; they were stories waiting to be told and memories waiting to be cherished.

Jack loved to gather with family and friends, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and conversation. His laid-back personality made him easy to be around, and he delighted in watching classic television like "Gunsmoke" and "Hogan's Heroes." These beloved shows offered comfort, and Jack often spent his evenings savoring their timeless humor and adventure. He also had an affection for cinema, particularly the iconic Western film "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," featuring Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach. The characters and tales told in that film resonated with him, just as he resonated with those around him.

Jack leaves behind a loving family who will carry on his legacy. He is survived by his son, Jack G. Shreve Jr. of Monroeville, OH, and his daughter, Brenda Angus of St. Clairsville. His spirit continues through his five grandchildren Connie Kunze, Angie Shreve, and Brian Palmer, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each bearing the imprint of his warmth and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Ally Jane (Bates) Shreve, and his precious daughter, Merrel E. Shreve. Their love and memories live on in Jack's family and the cherished moments shared together.

As we remember Jack Garfield Shreve Sr., let us celebrate his life, filled with passion, love, and laughter. His legacy will live on through the stories he shared and the joy he brought to so many. Though he may have left this world, he remains forever in our hearts, a treasured memory that will never fade. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
