Heather Marie Bensie, 47, of Tiltonsville passed away suddenly and far too soon on August 18, 2025 in her home. Heather was preceded in death by her mom, Debbie Bensie and her grandparents, Ed and Rosalie Kubat and Steve and Dee Kovach and her uncle Boots Kubat.
Heather is survived by her two sons, Ashton and Trenton Bensie, her dad Joel Bensie, her sister Joelle Bensie, and her niece Autumn Grafton.
Heather was most passionate about her cats. They were so spoiled and so loved. She advocated for cats in the shelters and was always sharing posts to help cats find loving homes. If you see a cat today, give it a little head scratch in honor of Heather or better yet, visit the Jefferson County Humane Society and adopt one of her beautiful black cats.
We would like Heather to be a beacon of hope for anyone struggling with addiction. Every step forward—no matter how small—is proof that recovery is possible. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but each day brings a new chance to grow stronger. And Heather did JUST THAT. She overcame addiction, she quit smoking, and she bettered her life. Her family is beyond proud of her and want the world to know just how incredibly strong she was.
Crack an ice cold Dr Pepper and drink to Heather! Rest well, Sis!
