Hazel Mae Husvar

September 21, 1947 — February 21, 2025

Bellaire, OH

Hazel Mae Husvar, affectionately known as "Cookie," left this world on February 21, 2025, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Bellaire. Born on September 21, 1947, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Hazel touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit.

Hazel was a talented crafter, finding joy in knitting, crocheting, and indulging in her love for old westerns. These hobbies not only served as her creative outlets but also as ways to connect with loved ones and share her passions. Her family meant everything to her, and she took immense pride in caring for her kitties and nurturing her relationships with those dear to her heart.

Throughout her life, Hazel was surrounded by a devoted and loving family. She is survived by her cherished children,  Sharon (Keith) Jenema of Michigan, Cheryl Haese of Bellaire, Paul Thomas Haese Jr. of Steubenville, Donna (Bruce) Shartzer of Kentucky, Loretta Smith of Toronto,  Charlene Haese (Anthony Hall) of Columbus, Charles "Chuckie" Haese of Amsterdam, as well as her seven half-siblings, several nieces and nephews, and an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hazel's legacy will forever be honored by those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Husvar, and her parents, the late Edward Shaner and Betty (Riggins) Crawford. Each of them played an integral role in shaping the compassionate and loving person she became.

A visitation will be held in her memory on February 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schuetz Funeral Home in Mingo Junction, Ohio. In this time of reflection, family and friends are invited to come together, sharing stories and celebrating the remarkable life of Hazel Mae Husvar—a woman whose love and light will be dearly missed.
