George W. Scheider, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 23, 2026. Born on August 5, 1956, in Washington, PA, George was a man who truly embraced life and the joys it brought.
A proud graduate of Brooke High School, Class of 1974, George went on to build a fulfilling career at VOTO Manufacturers Sales Company, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring. His contributions to the company were noteworthy, earning him respect and admiration from his colleagues.
George was known for his love of the outdoors. He found joy in gardening, riding his ATV, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family. His passion for life and adventure inspired those around him and created cherished memories for all who knew him.
In his personal life, George shared a deep bond with his loving wife, Patricia (Chivers) Scheider. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Rich (Karen Ellis) and Daniel (Jess) Scheider, who carry on his legacy. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
George is also survived by his brother, Richard (Fran) Seng, and his sisters, Rebecca (the late Tom) Lycett, Roxanne (the late Charles) Heinzeroth, Reveille (the late "Willie") Colley, and Georgeanne (the late Tom) Rinehart, sisters, late Rita and Jack Holloway and late Roberta (liv Jack) Colley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late George H. Scheider and Stella M. (Scheaffer) Merwick, and his brothers, Ronald (liv. Joanne) Seng, Regis (Liv. Ann) Seng, and Gerald "Jerry" Scheider.
