Freddy R Bartholomew

Freddy Ray Bartholomew, 67, of Steubenville, OH, died Friday, December 5, 2014 at Trinity West in Steubenville. Freddy was born on February 16, 1947 son to the late Raymond A. and Nellie May (Cassidy) Bartholomew.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond L. Bartholomew and Joseph Melnick.
He is survived by his companion Cheryl Bartholomew, the mother of his two daughters Shirley Rae Ann Bartholomew and Amy Bartholomew both of Steubenville, grandaugters Tara Marie Bartholomew, and Mya Mae Stock, a grandson Michael Ray Stock. One brother David (Cindy) Bartholomew of Follansbee, and a sister Janie (Don) Ignitius of Zanesville.
Freddy served in Vietnam and earned two purple hearts, and two bronze stars, he was a sheriff deputy under his father-in-law George L. Huscroft, and was a 28 year retiree of Steubenville Post Office. In lieu of flowers contributions to retired veterans /or the historical society of Steubenville.
Friends will be received Tuesday December 9, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schuetz Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction, OH.   Where services will be at 8 p.m. that evening with Steve Powell officiating. Private burial at Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
