Donna Lee Bargar

Donna Lee (Cotton) Bargar, affectionately known as “Nonna,”passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on November 16, 1955, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Donna’s life radiated warmth, gentleness, and devotion—a beacon that gently illuminated the lives of her family and all who knew her.

Donna dedicated three decades of her life as a registered nurse at Sewickley Valley Hospital. For thirty years, she was not just a healer of bodies, but also a comforter of hearts—a true “angel of mercy” to patients and colleagues alike. Her caring spirit extended beyond hospital walls; whether caring for family or lending a helpful hand to friends, Donna instinctively placed others’ needs above her own.

Family remained the heartbeat of Donna’s world. She was the cherished mother of Frank (Chrysti) Scozio Jr., Cassie (Richie) Verelst, Brandon Scozio, and Hannah Bargar. Nothing delighted her more than cheering on her grandchildren—Austin, Leeland, Lilly, De'Ja, and Hudson. They knew her not only as their number one fan, but also as the creator of countless joyful memories, from home-cooked meals to summertime adventures.

Donna was the beloved sister of Kim (Terry) Coleman and Kirk Cotton. The deep, enduring bonds she crafted with her siblings and extended family were testament to her loyalty and grace.

Life with Donna was always marked by warmth and unwavering support. Her kitchen overflowed with mouth-watering smells as she cooked for loved ones, and her laughter echoed at gatherings large and small. She had a zest for the simple joys—Tappen Lake stays, traveling to new places, long soaks in the hot tub, and lively evenings spent watching sports. Books brought her comfort and excitement, from novels to turning the sacred pages of the Bible.

Those left to cherish her memory remember Donna as generous, humble, and ever-loving—an amazing cook and a steadfast caregiver. In every season of her life, from tending the sick to cheering from the sidelines, Donna lived each day with a heart wide open, giving more than she received and leaving a trail of kindness in her wake.

Donna rejoins her beloved parents Stanley and Mary Cotton in eternal rest, while her spirit lives on in every life she touched.

A private celebration of life honoring Donna’s remarkable journey will be held so her family and friends may gather to celebrate her memory, to share stories, and to honor the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
