Deborah Ruth “Debbie” Roche (Harrell), 72, passed away peacefully on July 28th, 2026, in Steubenville, Ohio. Born on October 27, 1953, in Columbia, South Carolina, Debbie lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family and community. She was predeceased by her husband of many years, Patrick Maurice Roche; her parents Kenneth and Edna Ruth Harrell; and several cherished pets who brought joy to her life.Debbie built a remarkable career as an Executive Assistant, Office Manager, and Paralegal. Her professional life was marked by her organizational skills and commitment to excellence. Beyond her career, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family and the causes she cared about.A passionate volunteer and leader, Debbie served as a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years and as a Service Unit Coordinator for five years in Seminole County, Florida. She also dedicated a decade of her life volunteering at Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida. There, she provided love, meals, and joyful activities to families with terminally ill children—a testament to her compassionate spirit.Debbie cherished animals throughout her life and shared her home with many beloved pets over the years. Including Sissy, Yoda and Jelly Bean. Family was at the heart of Debbie’s world. She is survived by her son Sean Patrick Roche and his spouse Chrissy. Sean’s bond with his mother was one of unwavering love and respect. The lessons she taught, the sacrifices she made, and the countless memories they shared will forever remain in his heart.She is also survived by her daughter Heather Michelle Roche and her spouse Robin, Heather’s bond with her mother was one of deep love, devotion, and gratitude. Deborah was a guiding presence throughout Heather’s life, offering unconditional love, encouragement, and strength.Also survived by Step-daughters Lorrie Pecchia, Sheri Yates and Tammy Rankin; grandchildren Jesse Roche and his spouse Jocelyn, Gia Roche, Kylie Roche, Zach Rankin, Brandon Rankin, Ryan Lingle, TJ Yates, Robbie Yates and Jennifer Yates and great-grandson Luca Roche. Brother Andy and Denise Harrell, Ryan (Sarah) nephew, Sister Sue Mitchell, Robin (Chris) Angarita, niece; Melanie (Adam) Judge, niece, nieces and nephew, Mikaela, Hailee, and Andrew Judge.Debbie’s family find peace in knowing they were able to remain by Deborah’s side until the very end, surrounding her with the same love, comfort, and devotion she gave them throughout her life.Deborah will be cremated and reunited with Patrick as their ashes are spread together alongside those of their beloved pets who have passed before them. Their enduring love was beautifully captured in one of Debbie’s favorite quotes: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by moments that take our breath away.” Together, Debbie and Patrick shared countless breathtaking moments that will forever be remembered by those who knew them.May Debbie’s memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
