Craig "Digger" Allen Wilt, born April 17, 1970, in Bellaire, OH, blew through this world with the grit and fire of a true rebel and left behind a legacy that refuses to be boxed in or forgotten. On June 6, 2026, at Liza's Place, he passed away after a battle with lung cancer, but not without leaving his mark as a lover, a fighter, a friend, and most importantly, a perfect dad.
Known far and wide—and to those fortunate enough to call him friend—as “Digger,” Craig wasn’t just any laborer working under Bruce Montenery; he was a man who chose loyalty over convenience, often bending his back mostly for friends. His work ethic was unyielding: hard-working to the core, and don’t dare get in his way. But beneath that tough exterior simmered a deeply loving and caring spirit, one who would give the shirt off his back without a second thought.
Craig’s swagger wasn’t just about toughness; it was reflected in the sweetness he could show to those he cherished most, especially his companion of seven years, Glenda Marie Milhorn—his constant, his love, his partner in life’s unruly adventures. Together, they built a life that honored Craig’s generous soul.
Graduating from Buckeye South in ’88, Craig carved a life on his own terms. NASCAR roared through his veins, and the Steelers were more than a team—they were a religion. His hobbies? Enjoying life’s wild side—smoking weed, having fun, and living unapologetically free. And through all this, he never missed a chance to stand proud beside his two true treasures: his dog and best friend, Mijo, and his beloved house, the real sanctuaries where he laid down his roots and spun his stories.
The family tree still stands tall with those who carry Craig’s spirit forward. Survived by Glenda, the seasoned warrior at his side; stepchildren Christina Reynolds of Wheeling, Gary May of Spencer, WV, Samantha (Bill) Glover of Dillionvale, and Cody (Ashley Garr) Travis of Belmont, OH; a host of step-grandchildren who no doubt feel his fiery legacy; and his siblings, Bill (Erin) Wilt of Rayland, OH, and Lisa Selby of Springhill, FL. Not to mention Mijo, the dog who held court as loyal protector and steadfast comrade.
Craig’s story is also marked by absence—the silent echoes of those who went before him: his parents, Bob and Carol (Cominski) Wilt, and his brother Bobby G. Wilt. Their memory undoubtedly fuels the flame of remembrance that burns bright for Craig, a man never meant to fade quietly.
He wasn’t just a “perfect dad”—he was a force of nature wrapped in tenderness and rebellion, a man who could be a friend’s rock while flipping off the odds stacked against him. Craig "Digger" Allen Wilt reminded us all that life is lived best on your own terms: fiercely, generously, and with an unrelenting heart. And if you ever find yourself questioning what that looks like, just look to the life he boldly lived. The world was lucky to have him—and still is. Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
