Charles "Keith" Long

Charles “Keith” Long, age 70 of Rush Run Road, Rayland, OH won his battle with pancreatic
cancer surrounded by family on Thursday, February 15, 2024, and will spend eternity with his
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born July 10, 1953 in Steubenville, OH he was the son of the late
Alvin & Grace (Carpenter) Long. He is survived by his adoring wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Moore)
Long, whom he married on October 6, 1973.
He worked diligently for 35 years in HVAC/Sheet metal as a journeyman at Walters Heating &
H.E. Neumann, proudly to provide for his loving family. He was known for his abilities to fix
anything, volunteering at church (especially fixing things) and supporting his grandchildren at all
of their events. He loved watching his 7 grandchildren excel in sports and band, cheering them
on from the stands.
A man of great faith, Keith was a devoted member of the Meadowbrook Church of God for 50
years. He valued serving others and the church. After retirement if not at home, Keith could be
found at church fixing things. This spiritual sanctuary was a place where he found solace and
community.
Keith was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Jeremy Long of Bloomingdale,OH;
Benjamin Long of Bloomingdale, OH; Rebekkah (Tony) Myer of Butler, OH. Grandchildren:
Chanler, Owen, & Carly Long; Amelia (Nick) Simpson, Jackson (Faith) Myer, Charles & Lucy
Myer. Brothers: Ron (Linda) Long of Rayland, OH; Ed (Mary) Long of Yorkville, OH; Gary
(Jennifer) Long of Rayland,OH. Sisters: Grace (Paul) Williams of Strausburg, OH; Mae Larkins
of Toronto, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Billy Jo Long and Robert
Long.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-1:00pm on February 19 th , 2024 at Meadowbrook
Church of God, 10152 Ohio 150, Rayland, OH 43943. Services to honor and celebrate Keith’s
life will follow at 1:00 pm conducted by Pastor Dave Hennen.
The family asks for no flowers to be sent to honor Keith, instead, please send memorial
contributions to the church he dearly served, Meadowbrook Church of God, 10152 Ohio 150,
Rayland, OH 43943 to support missions work. The family would like to thank Weirton Medical
Center for their loving care of Keith over the past 6 years through his long hard fought battle
