Carolyn June Bever, born Carolyn June Roberts, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 22, 2026, in Weirton, West Virginia. She was 83. Born on December 27, 1942, in Mingo Junction, Ohio, Carolyn lived a life marked by devotion to her family, steadfast work, generous love, and a style all her own.
A graduate of Mingo High School’s Class of 1961, Carolyn went on to build a life that reflected both her warmth and her determination. She was the owner of Carolyn’s Florist for 46 years, a lasting testament to her work ethic, creativity, and love of beauty. She also sold Home Interiors for 25 years, bringing her eye for design and her personal touch to many who knew her. Her flower shop was not only the center of her working life, but also a place that became part of the family’s memories, remembered as a place where she was always busy, always engaged, and always giving of herself.
Carolyn’s life was rooted in the things she loved most. She delighted in gardening and flowers, pleasures that suited her natural grace and care for the world around her. She enjoyed talking on her cell phone, keeping close to those she loved, and she liked to match and look good, carrying herself with pride and spirit. She was known as sweet, caring, giving, and forgiving, someone who was always helping another person whenever she could. These qualities shaped the way she moved through life and the way she will be remembered by all who knew her.
Nothing meant more to Carolyn than her family. Her home was a gathering place for family get-togethers, for Thanksgiving and Christmas, for birthdays and the many ordinary and extraordinary moments that become treasured memories over time. She loved her marriage to her beloved husband, William Bever Sr., with whom she spent every waking moment, and that enduring bond remained one of the great joys of her life. Among her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, and the shop she built with such dedication.
She is survived by her daughter, Melany (John Cencarik) Bever, of Weirton, William (Michele) Bever of Weirton, Chad Bever of Weirton, grandchildren Joshua Matazinski of Weirton, Brittany Matazinski, Brandon Matazinski, Dylan Bever, Leo Bever, and Alia Bever, as well as her grandchildren Ryan, Jakob, Jason, Jaevin, and Jaxon. Her legacy continues in her great-grandchildren, Joslene, Jasmine, Joshua Jr., Kaiden, Jaiden, Malia, Braiden, Brylie, and great great grandson Jamison Oliver, and special niece Babett Hoover -Taylor, of whom carries forward a part of her love and presence.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Carroll Bever Sr.; by her son, Shawn Bever; and by her sister, Barbara Blancato, Zippy, Dusty, and Miles the trusty cat.
Carolyn June Bever leaves behind a family knit together by her care, her example, and the many traditions she helped create. She will be remembered in blooming gardens, in holiday tables filled with loved ones, in the busy and beautiful work of caring for others, and in the enduring love of the family she cherished so deeply.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will commence privately next to her husband at Chappel Hill Memorial Gardens.
