Carl Wayne Huffman, 72, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away on November 11, 2025. Born December 22, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl Raymond Huffman Jr. and Maxine (Clark) Huffman.


Wayne worked as a coal miner and union leader before joining the U.S. Army at age 30, where he served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Later in life, he pursued his passion as a professional photographer. Wayne was also a writer, Civil War reenactor, and lifelong student of history.


He is survived by his son, Carl William (Julie) Huffman, and daughter, Darcy (David) Bradley. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Ann McCaffery.


Cremation arrangements were handled by Schuetz Funeral Home. There will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project.
