Barbara Ellen Snyder

Barbara Ellen (Brown) Snyder, 88, died peacefully on August 19, 2026, surrounded by family. Born April 15, 1938, to George & Mary (Courtwright) Brown of Martins Ferry, Ohio. Barbara was the 9th of 9 children. She is preceded in death by her brother Charles Brown, and sisters: Elsie Conaway, Evelyn Fishow, Dorothy Habermehl, JoAnn Nobile, Clara Steele, and Lulu Lopreste. Surviving are 3 children: William Snyder, David (Joyce) Snyder, and Susan (Snyder) Soltis, all of Martins Ferry, Ohio. 7 grandchildren: Zachary (Kylie) Snyder, Samantha (Aaron) Staley, David (Sarah) Snyder, David (Allison) Hacker, Haley (Eric) Hannahs, Jami (Jimmy) Green, and Joey (Elizabeth) Jozwiak. 18 great grandchildren: Ethan, Jed, Zoey, Clayton, Kylah, Kashton, Khloe, Ashlyn, Ellie, Aaden, Leah, Maddy, Isaiah, Brianna, Aria, Brooke, Taylin and Kinzley. Also surviving is her loving sister Shirley Yanchak, of Windsor Height, WV, as well of a wealth of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the staff on the 4th floor of Wheeling Hospital and Valley Hospice for caring for our mom as well as her family. "Thank You." A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family.
