Alvena Marie (Wolter) Creek

Alvena Marie Creek, 95, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away January 3, 2014 at Weirton Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  She was a catholic by faith.

She was born February 19, 1919, the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Wolter.

In addition to her parents, Alvena was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, son John Thomas Creek, brothers Edwin, Charles, and Herman Wolter and sister Doris Welday.

Alvena served in the Women's Army Corp during WWII stationed in Australia.  Alvena retired as a cook for the Indian School District after many years.

Surviving is her son, Daniel V. Creek (Connie), granddaughter Christina Marie Creek, grandson Jeffrey John Creek and step-grandson Robert L. Fithen all of Steubenville.  She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.  A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements by Schuetz Funeral Home, Mingo Junction.
